Echinacea has always reminded me of summer. Growing up in Ukraine, these flowers were everywhere - wild, resilient, and deeply familiar. They were also valued for their healing properties and often found their way into family gardens. This painting was inspired by my daughter and her love of the color pink. As I painted, I found myself thinking about the connection between generations - between the flowers I remember from my childhood and the memories she is creating now. Through expressive brushwork and layered color, the landscape becomes a meeting place for those memories: a celebration of beauty, tenderness, and the small moments that shape our sense of home.
