Title: Before I Understood why Statement. Adolescence exists in a space between certainty and possibility. It is a period shaped by emotional intensity, emerging self-awareness, and a growing recognition of worlds that extend beyond immediate experience. This work reflects on that threshold, where identity remains fluid and understanding often lags behind feeling. Rather than viewing transformation as a singular event, the work considers it as an ongoing negotiation between attachment and independence, memory and anticipation, belonging and self-discovery. Change unfolds gradually, shaped by relationships, environments, and the experiences that leave lasting impressions upon us. Drawing on the interconnected rhythms of life, the work reflects on growth as a condition shared across living beings. Ultimately, it is a meditation on curiosity, longing, and the formative moments that shape who we become before we fully understand why.
