

Crown of Union This piece celebrates the women who have upheld the spirit of unity in Nigeria, women whose influence not only blesses this nation but extends across Africa and into the diaspora. During my research for this series, I was reminded of a mantra I hold dear: “A woman is home.” It speaks to the enduring role of women as custodians of culture, bearers of identity, and weavers of unity across generations. This body of work is a tribute to the women of our past and present, those who have preserved our heritage, nurtured communities, and sustained the collective spirit of our people. They embody a legacy of strength, resilience, and harmony. They wear the Crown of Union, a symbol of honor for those who labored for peace, who bridged divides, and whose sacrifices built the foundation upon which we now stand, gather, and celebrate
