This painting was created to bring awareness to the recent floods in Hawaii. I wanted a way to honor the Indigenous people of Hawaii, a beautiful place I grew up visiting frequently. Hawaii also has the largest protected ocean area in the world, so this painting also felt like an homage to the preservation of the ocean.
