The Weight of Quiet explores the invisible masks women especially African women are taught to wear to exist peacefully in society. Silence becomes a learned form of survival, shaped by expectation and judgment. The mask symbolizes restraint: emotions suppressed, words withheld, and strength concealed. The hand on the face reflects weariness and forced composure, while layered colors reveal the complex roles and identities within womanhood. The intense red background echoes a demanding, unlistening world. This work honors not weakness, but endurance the resilience required to carry life and identity behind enforced.
