In Vedic philosophy, from the One comes Shiva (the masculine) and Shakti (the feminine). Shiva is blue, consistent energy. Shakti is red oscillating energy. These energies are in eternal dance. Looking at the painting, from the middle, the waves are alternating from red to blue to red to blue. As they oscillate towards the top and bottom edges of the painting, they begin to merge showing red or blue flecks within each stripe. As they reach the edges of the canvas, they turn into a purple color. As the red and blue merge, they become the color of the field they are dancing on. The dual energies merge back into the oneness they derived from.
