This is based on a composite of images. I loved the play of light and shadow in this image. I wanted to explore how the sunlight caught certain elements of the composition and threw the rest of it into deep shadow that was compounded by the earthy tones of the table and platter. This is part of my year long project, "This sweet simple existence". During this year of living creatively, I will create small artworks everyday based around objects from my daily life, (mostly food, household items, perhaps the view from my window etc). thereby simply documenting the extraordinary in the ordinary joys of a simple life.
