This piece is part of my “Coasts of North America” collection. I heard about an almost deserted island off the coast of Nova Scotia called Sable Island where there are more wild horses than people. And I was just inspired to paint it. This painting depicts a trio of wild horses roaming along the shore. I wanted to focus more on the horses and the play of light and shadows using a limited color palette.
