Encontros Noturnos was born from a photograph taken at dusk, on a summer night in Cascais, Portugal. Months later, revisiting my references, I came across that landscape again and understood that it still lived in my memory. The work does not seek to represent the sea, but to translate the feeling of that instant: the texture of the sand, the movement of the foam, the light, and the horizon where sky and water meet. Working between different thicknesses and tones of thread, I built an atmosphere, not an image. The colors of the piece reflect the sand, the sea, and the sky, the true nocturnal encounters that give the work its name. After all, a work is not made in the studio alone; it is the result of a lifetime of observation, memory, and sensibility.
