It's the fourth painting of the upcoming series; "Apothecary" is a series of nine paintings inspired by the relationship between women and plants. Throughout history, herbs, flowers, and roots have been used for healing, ritual, and survival. This body of work reflects on that inherited knowledge and the ways it continues to shape our connection to nature. Each painting is created on wood panel and centered around a different plant. Areas of exposed wood are still visible, referencing the roots of these plants and maintaining a connection to the work’s natural origins. Arranged in three groups of three (Tree), the series explores cycles of growth, transformation, and renewal through abstraction, color combinations and organic form.
