Spring Blossom is a vibrant exploration of texture and light. Combining oil, collage, fragment of etching and printed papers on canvas, the piece captures the delicate beauty of floral forms while inviting viewers to appreciate the interplay of layered materials and subtle surface depth. The piece is layered with collage and then using a grinder I cut away the pictorial surface puncturing the canvas to expose the found color palette. Using this method creates a dialogue with materials make the front just as important as the back as well as the positive and negative space.
