Blue Planet (Contained) is a mixed media relief artwork constructed entirely from carefully sorted recycled plastic toys and everyday household objects, with minimal acrylic paint applied for tonal unity. Rendered in layered shades of blue, the composition presents a fragmented image of Earth. Oceans, landmasses, and atmospheric zones are suggested through repetition, texture, and modular forms rather than literal depiction. Plastic caps and industrial fragments accumulate into a dense surface that echoes both natural systems and human-made patterns. The transparent, colored acrylic frame acts as an artificial boundary, simultaneously protecting and isolating the image. The work invites reflection on how contemporary life observes, preserves, and controls the planet within constructed limits, raising questions of responsibility, care, and coexistence in a synthetic world.
