I paint in oil on canvas using fragments of linocut and sanded paper prints, collaged and layered like memory. My work explores place as a patchwork of familiarity, where landscapes are reconstructed through recollection rather than direct observation. Working from memory, I revisit shifting fields and wooded spaces, holding onto the sensations they leave behind. I hold onto the sensation, atmosphere, sounds and smells of fresh damp grass and glimpses of sky through the dense canopy of trees.
