My “Remembrance” diptych is a pair of 36” x 36” oil paintings that celebrate the rich Mexican tradition of Día de los Muertos. Each piece features a young woman with her face beautifully adorned in traditional Day of the Dead makeup. They stand solemnly in front of vibrant altars dedicated to their grandparents, surrounded by glowing candles, marigold flowers, and colorful papel picado banners. These paintings honor the enduring connection between the living and the departed, capturing the essence of remembrance and celebration.
